TESSAN makes power strips, wall outlet extenders, travel adapters and charging stations — the unglamorous hardware that decides whether a desk, a bedside table or a suitcase actually works.

Worth knowing before you buy: adapter or converter

This is the mistake that destroys equipment. A travel adapter changes the shape of the plug only. It does not change the voltage. The Philippines runs 220V, while the United States, Japan and Canada run around 110V.

Plugging a 110V-only appliance into a 220V socket through an adapter will damage it, sometimes immediately. Check the label on your device — most modern chargers, laptops and phone adapters say “100-240V” and are safe worldwide. Hair dryers, curling irons and small kitchen appliances often are not.

Surge protection in joules

A higher joule rating absorbs more energy before failing. It matters here because the surge when grid power returns after an outage is what damages electronics, not the outage itself. For a desk with a computer on it, surge protection is worth the difference in price.
