What to check before you buy

• Coverage area: Check the stated room size coverage against where you'll actually place it, a unit sized for a small room won't clear a larger open space.
• UV light replacement: Some models use replaceable UV bulbs that dim over time and need periodic swapping to stay effective.
• Noise level: Worth checking if it's running overnight in a bedroom, fan-based models vary in how much noise they produce.

Do UV mosquito killer lamps actually work?

Yes, UV lamps attract and zap many flying insects, and they work best at night in a darkened room where they are the brightest light source. They work well as one layer of protection, alongside screens, nets and removing standing water where mosquitoes breed during the rainy season.

Should I get a mosquito racket or a bug zapper lamp?

Get a racket if you want to deal with mosquitoes on the spot, and a lamp if you want something that runs on its own overnight. The Qualitell 2-in-1 racket doubles as a UV trap lamp when placed on its base, so it covers both uses.

Where should I place a bug zapper lamp?

Place it away from where people sit or sleep, at about the height mosquitoes fly, and away from other bright lights that compete with it. Are electric mosquito killers safe around children and pets?

They are designed with a protective grille over the charged grid, but they should still be kept out of reach of children and pets. Never touch the grid while the unit is on, and switch it off before cleaning.
