Worth knowing before you buy

Battery capacity decides runtime, and runtime depends on speed. A fan advertised at 10 hours means 10 hours on its lowest setting. On maximum that might be two. If you want a fan that lasts a full brownout, look at the mAh figure rather than the headline hours.

Match the type to how you will use it. Neck fans keep both hands free but move less air. Handheld fans are stronger but occupy a hand. Desk fans move the most air but stay put. Waist-clip models suit walking and market work.
