What to check before you buy
- Backdrop size vs subject size: match the box, paper or board to what you shoot. Small products need less coverage than a full portrait setup.
- Matte vs glossy finish: matte backdrops avoid glare under lights; acrylic boards give the mirrored look some product shots want.

What do I need to start taking product photos at home?
A light box or a well-lit table by a window, a clean backdrop, and a reflector to fill shadows. A PULUZ LED photo box from ₱259 covers small items; add a PVC or paper backdrop and props.
How much is a photo light box in the Philippines?
At VMI Direct, the PULUZ LED photo box costs ₱259 for 20 cm, ₱389 for 23 cm and ₱699 for 30 cm. The larger 40 cm PULUZ light box with two 5500K LED strips costs ₱1,999.
PVC backdrop or paper backdrop: which should I buy?
Choose PVC if you shoot food, drinks or cosmetics, because it is waterproof and wipes clean. Choose printed background paper for styled flat-lays and variety at a lower price, but keep it dry, since paper stains and creases more easily.
How do I remove the shadow under my product?
Place a PULUZ LED bottom light panel under the product inside a light box. Lighting from below removes the dark line where the item meets the surface, which keeps jewelry, glassware and cosmetics looking clean with less editing.
What does a photography reflector do?
A reflector bounces existing light back into the shadows. White gives a soft natural fill, silver adds brighter contrast, gold warms skin tones, and the diffuser panel softens harsh sun. A 60 cm disc suits products and head-and-shoulders portraits.
Which backdrop stand should I get?
For tabletop products and small backdrops, the 68 x 75 cm T-shape stand at ₱345 is enough. For cloth or PVC backdrops up to 2 m wide, choose the 200 x 200 cm version at ₱599.
What is a clapboard used for?
A clapboard, or slate, marks the start of each take so you can sync sound and find scenes when editing. Our wooden clapboard costs ₱375 in black, white or coloured, and also works as a studio or content prop.
