RETURN AND REPLACEMENT POLICY
This policy is valid for the Philippines only.
At VMi Direct, we are committed to providing high-quality products and excellent customer service in accordance with the consumer protection standards set by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Consumer Act of the Philippines (R.A. 7394).
✅ 1. 7-Day Replacement for Defective Products
If your purchased item has a manufacturing defect, you may return it for a replacement or exchange within 7 calendar days from the date of purchase.
This policy applies only to products that are found to be defective upon arrival or develop a verified manufacturing defect within the first 7 days of use.
⚠️ This policy does not cover “change of mind” returns, accidental damage, misuse, or normal wear and tear.
📄 2. Proof of Purchase Required
To qualify for a replacement, you must provide a valid proof of purchase, such as:
- Official receipt
- Sales invoice
- Order confirmation email
- Transaction record from our website
Without proof of purchase, we may not be able to process your replacement request.
📦 3. Condition of the Product
The item must be returned in original condition, which includes:
- Complete with original packaging and labels
- All accessories, manuals, cables, and freebies included
- No signs of physical damage, tampering, or improper use
- In a resalable (marketable) condition
Products that are damaged due to mishandling, modification, or incorrect installation will not be eligible for replacement.

- Buyer’s remorse
- Products that are not defective

Why octagonal shape matters
An octagonal softbox produces rounder, more natural-looking catchlights in a subject's eyes compared to a square or rectangular softbox, which is why it's the standard choice for portrait photography specifically — the closer to circular the shape, the closer the light mimics the sun.

Frequently asked questions
Which softbox size should I choose?
Larger softboxes give softer light with gentler shadow edges. The 45cm suits a single subject at close range and small spaces. The 65cm is the general-purpose choice for portraits and product work. The 90cm gives the softest light and covers a wider area, but needs more room and a sturdier stand.
Why octagonal rather than square?
The eight-sided shape mimics natural sunlight and produces round catchlights in the eyes, which looks more natural in portraits than the rectangular reflections a square softbox creates.
Will it fit my light?
It uses Bowens mount, which fits the COLBOR CL series and most studio lights from other manufacturers. The Wonder Series W60 and W100 use C-mount instead and need the MAR adapter to attach a Bowens modifier.
Does a bigger softbox mean less light reaches the subject?
Yes, some. Diffusion always costs output, and a larger box spreads the same light over a wider area. That is the trade for softer, more flattering light, and it is why larger softboxes are usually paired with more powerful heads.
How close should I place it?
Closer is softer. The relationship that matters is the size of the softbox relative to the subject, so moving a 65cm box nearer produces softer light than the same box further away. Start close and pull back until the look is right.
Is it quick to set up?
Octa softboxes assemble with rods into the speedring. Allow a few minutes the first time. Once built, most people leave them assembled rather than breaking them down between shoots.
