What to check before you buy

• Wired vs wireless: Wired lavaliers are simpler and cheaper, plugging directly into a camera or recorder. Wireless systems free the subject from a cable but need a receiver and battery management.
• Single vs dual channel: Interviewing two people at once needs a dual-channel wireless system, not two separate single mics competing for the same receiver.
• Range: Wireless range matters for stage or classroom use where the presenter moves around; check the meter rating against your actual space.
