Travel Adapter
VMI Direct sells travel adapters in the Philippines from ₱499 to ₱2,559, including TESSAN universal adapters, a UK Type G adapter for Singapore and Hong Kong, and a Europe adapter for Korea, all with USB charging.
Quick guide for Filipino travelers
- Japan, Taiwan, USA: Philippine plugs fit (Type A/B). Check voltage: Japan is 100V.
- Korea and Europe: round-pin Type C/F. Use a Europe-style or universal adapter.
- Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, UK, Dubai: three-pin Type G. Use a Type G or universal adapter.
- Australia and China: Type I sockets. Use a universal adapter.
What to check before you buy
- Voltage conversion: Travel adapters convert plug shape only, not voltage. Check your device is rated for both 110-120V and 220-240V (most phone and laptop chargers are) before assuming an adapter alone is enough.
- USB-C power: 15 to 25W charges a phone quickly; 65W and up can charge a USB-C laptop.
- No surge protection: These are travel adapters, not surge protectors. Unplug them during storms.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a travel adapter for Japan?
Usually not. Japan uses Type A and B outlets, so flat-pin Philippine plugs fit. Japan runs at 100V, though, so 220V-only appliances like many hair dryers will not work properly there.
What travel adapter do I need for Singapore and Hong Kong?
A Type G adapter with three rectangular pins, also used in Malaysia, the UK and Dubai. The ₱599 TESSAN TA01AUS has a Type G plug and four outlets, or use any universal adapter.
What travel adapter do I need for Korea?
A round-pin Type C or F adapter. The ₱599 TESSAN TA02AUS fits Korean and most European sockets and adds four outlets and USB ports. Korea uses 220V, the same as the Philippines.
How much is a universal travel adapter in the Philippines?
At VMI Direct, TESSAN universal travel adapters start at ₱499 for the TS-GM-1005N, ₱799 for the 633FC and ₱889 for the GM-3001DCR with 25W USB-C. The 85W TS-656EFW costs ₱2,559.
Does a travel adapter convert voltage?
No. TESSAN travel adapters change the plug shape only. Use devices rated 100 to 240V, which covers almost all phone, tablet, laptop and camera chargers. Check hair dryers and irons before you travel.
Do travel adapters have surge protection?
No. The TESSAN travel adapters we stock, including the 633 series, GM-3001DCR, TS-GM-1005N and TS-656EFW, have no surge protection. Several include fuses, but unplug them during storms and power fluctuations.
Can a universal adapter charge a laptop?
Yes, if the laptop charges by USB-C and the adapter has enough power. The TESSAN WTA03 gives up to 65W and the TS-656EFW up to 85W, enough for most USB-C laptops.
