A body camera at VMI Direct costs ₱6,399 for the SJCAM A10 or ₱7,699 for the SJCAM A50. For most security guards and riders the A10 is the better buy: infrared night vision, IP65 and a removable battery rated up to 7 hours. Choose the A50 for 4K video and built-in GPS.
Body cameras are now common on security guards, traffic enforcers, delivery riders and field inspectors across the Philippines. A clip-on camera records what happens during a shift, hands-free, so there is video to review if there is a dispute or an incident. This guide compares the two SJCAM body cameras we stock with live prices, and covers battery life, night recording and the accessories worth adding.
How much is a body camera in the Philippines?
At VMI Direct, the SJCAM A10 costs ₱6,399 and the SJCAM A50 costs ₱7,699. Budget about ₱799 more for a spare A10 battery, since most duty shifts run longer than one battery charge.
Both cameras record to a microSD card, sold separately, of up to 128GB. Add the cost of a card when you compare prices, and choose a card rated for continuous video recording.
What is the difference between the SJCAM A10 and A50?
The A10 records up to 1296P at 30fps with a 140° lens and a 2650mAh battery rated for 7 hours. The A50 records 4K at 30fps with a 135° lens, 12 infrared lights, an LED lamp and built-in GPS.
The SJCAM A10 has dual microphones with noise reduction, a laser light for aiming and a car mode, so it also works as a dash camera. The SJCAM A50 records sharper video and logs your position by GPS, which helps when footage needs a location.

How long does a body camera battery last?
SJCAM rates the A10 at up to 7 hours of recording and the A50 at about 4 to 5 hours with Wi-Fi and the screen off. A 12-hour guard shift needs at least one charged spare battery.
The SJCAM A10/A20 battery is ₱799, the dual-slot charger is ₱459, and the battery and charger set is ₱1,669. The charger fills two batteries at once, so a fresh one is ready for each shift. This battery fits the A10 and A20, not the A50.
Can a body camera record at night?
Yes. Both models switch to infrared night vision in low light. The A10 uses an IR-cut filter that changes modes automatically, and the A50 adds 12 infrared lights and an LED lamp for areas with no light.
Infrared night footage is black and white. It works best within a few metres, which suits close encounters at a gate, a checkpoint or a doorstep.
Is a body camera waterproof enough for Philippine rain?
Both the A10 and A50 are rated IP65, which means dust-tight and protected against rain and water sprayed from any direction. They are not made for swimming or for being submerged, so keep them out of floodwater.
For riders, clip the camera high on the chest under a rain jacket flap if possible, and dry the Type-C port before charging.
How do you wear a body camera?
Clip it to the chest of your uniform or vest using the back clip, with the lens facing forward at chest height. Both cameras come with a fixed and a moveable back clip, and the A10 adds a fixing base.
Clips can break or go missing on duty, so a spare SJCAM A10 clip at ₱299 is worth keeping in a locker.
Is it legal to record with a body camera?
Recording in public places is generally allowed, but audio recording of private conversations and recording in private spaces raise legal issues. Follow your employer's or agency's policy, and read our guide before recording on duty.
Our article on whether it is legal to wear a body camera in the Philippines covers the main rules. This is general information, not legal advice.
