What is the best SJCAM under ₱5,000?
The SJ6 Legend at ₱4,189 for a classic camera with gyro stabilization and two screens, or the C100 Pro at ₱3,849 for a 32 g magnetic thumb camera that records 4K for up to 170 minutes.
The ₱2,575 SJ4000 Air is the cheapest way to start, and it shoots 4K at 30fps with a 170° lens, but its product page lists no gyro stabilization, so expect more shake on a motorcycle or bike. If stabilization matters, spend a little more.
Which SJCAM is best for motovlogging?
The S10 at ₱13,799 or the C400 at ₱10,599. Both use 6-axis gyro stabilization, and both pair a small camera you mount on the helmet with a separate unit for longer battery and framing.
The S10 camera weighs about 46 g, records 4K at 30fps, and runs up to 240 minutes with its Boost Pod, which also works as a remote and preview screen. The C400 controller adds a 2.29-inch rotating screen and over 7 hours of 4K. For a lower budget, the C400 Pocket is the same small camera without the controller. Is SJCAM waterproof without a case?
Only some. The SJ30 body and the S10 camera are waterproof to 5 m without a case. Most others, including the SJ4000 Air, C100 Pro and C400 Pocket, reach 30 m only inside the included case.
Always close the case properly and rinse it with fresh water after the beach. Our explainer on action camera waterproofing covers seals, fogging and depth ratings.
SJCAM or DJI: which should you buy?
SJCAM if budget matters most, since most models cost a third to half of a DJI. DJI if you need waterproofing without a case: the ₱25,690 Osmo Action 6 handles 20 m and has 50GB storage.
For casual riding, travel and family trips, a mid-range SJCAM like the C400 Pocket covers most needs. For diving, heavy daily use and low light, the extra spend on a DJI Osmo Action 6 or the SJ30's starlight sensor pays off. To make sure you get a genuine unit, see how to check an authentic SJCAM.
