A complete restaurant pager system in the Philippines costs ₱4,999 to ₱6,599 at VMI Direct for a base and 6 to 10 pagers. The ₱4,999 Daytech RP01 set with 10 pagers suits most cafés and food stalls. For waiter call buttons at each table, the Daytech P4 set with 5 buttons costs ₱2,399.
Calling out order numbers over a noisy dining room wastes staff time and annoys guests. A guest pager, also called an order beeper or buzzer, lets people sit down and wait until their pager buzzes. A waiter call button works the other way: the guest presses it, and staff see the table number. This guide covers both, with live set prices, and helps you work out how many pagers you need.
How does a restaurant pager system work?
The cashier hands each guest a numbered pager with their order. When the food is ready, staff key that number into the base and press Call. The pager beeps, flashes and vibrates, and the guest walks up to collect.
Pagers sit on the base to recharge between uses. On the Daytech E-P300, the keypad and the charging base are one unit, and the ring time can be set from 1 to 99 seconds.
How many pagers does a restaurant need?
Count the orders waiting at your busiest moment, then add about 20% as spares. A café taking 40 orders an hour with a 12-minute prep time has about 8 orders waiting at once, so a 10-pager set fits.
Use this quick check:
- Estimate your peak orders per hour, for example the lunch rush.
- Multiply by your average prep time in minutes, then divide by 60. That is how many pagers are out at once.
- Add about 20% for pagers that are charging, forgotten on a table or taken out of service.
If you outgrow the set, you can add pagers. The E-P300 base supports up to 998 pagers, and the EP1000 and RP01 pages also list extra pagers.

Waiter call button or guest pager: which do you need?
Use guest pagers if customers order at a counter and wait, as in cafés, food courts and fast-food stalls. Use waiter call buttons if staff serve at the table and guests need to ask for the bill or more food.
Some restaurants use both: pagers at the counter for takeout orders and call buttons on dine-in tables. The Daytech P4 receiver shows the table number and announces it by voice. The Daytech E-400 display shows up to three calls at once and keeps the last 30 pending calls.
Which pager is best for a noisy or wet kitchen?
The Daytech EP1000 has a waterproof and oilproof keyboard and reaches up to 100 m indoors. Its pagers buzz, vibrate and flash, or switch to silent vibration and flash for clinics and quiet waiting rooms.
The P4 and E-400 call buttons are also waterproof, so spilled drinks on a table will not stop them working. Wipe the pagers down between uses, especially during busy service.
How do you set up a pager system on day one?
Charge all pagers fully on the base before opening, check each number with a test call, and stick the number labels where staff and guests can read them. Keep the base near the cashier and the kitchen pass.
Train every cashier on the same routine: hand over the pager with the receipt, tell the guest it will buzz when the food is ready, and collect it at pick-up. Count the pagers at closing so none go home with customers.
