The Short Answer
The best budget smartphone gimbals in the Philippines sit between ₱3,200 and ₱5,000. For tracking without an app, get the Hohem iSteady V2S. For a detachable remote and wider phone support, the iSteady V3. For a remote and extension rod on a budget, the X3.
Payday weekend at a mall in Cubao. You have ₱5,000 set aside for "content gear" and three tabs open: a ₱900 no-brand stabilizer on a marketplace, a DJI you cannot quite afford, and a Hohem you have never heard of. The cheap one has 4.9 stars and photos that look suspiciously like the expensive one. Sound familiar?
Budget gimbals have improved a lot. Below about ₱5,000 you now get real 3-axis stabilization, gesture control and even built-in AI tracking. This guide covers the models we actually stock, starting with the Hohem iSteady V2S, our pick for most first-time buyers, and explains where each one cuts corners.
What You Get (and Give Up) Under ₱5,000
Every model below is a true 3-axis gimbal with pan, tilt and roll motors. The differences are in four places:
- Tracking. Some have a built-in AI sensor that works with any camera app. Others track only inside the Hohem Joy app.
- Payload. 280 g versus 300 g sounds small, but it decides whether your phone fits with its case on.
- Remote. A detachable remote lets you start recording from across the room.
- Battery. Plain stabilizing lasts all day on most of these. Tracking and fill light cut that hard.

Our Picks by Situation
Best overall under ₱4,000: iSteady V2S
Built-in AI tracking that works inside TikTok, Instagram or your camera app, gesture control, and the lightest body in the group. The catch: phones must be 280 g or less and no thicker than 11 mm, so heavy flagships in thick cases will not fit.
Best for reach and remote control: iSteady X3
About 11 hours of plain stabilizing, a magnetic detachable remote that works from 10 m, and a 205 mm extension rod. Tracking runs through the app, so it will not track inside TikTok Live directly.
Best step-up: iSteady V3
If you can stretch to ₱4,949, the V3 adds a stronger AI tracker, a remote panel that detaches from the handle, and a 300 g payload. It is the cheapest Hohem with both a remote and app-free tracking.
Best for rain-prone shoots: iSteady Mobile Plus
The only one in this group with an IPX4 splash rating. Check your phone width first: its clamp takes phones up to 89 mm wide.
The "Gimbal Under 100 Dollars" Question
US guides often say "gimbal under $100." Depending on the day's exchange rate, that is roughly ₱5,500 to ₱6,000, so every model in the table fits. For comparison, DJI's Osmo Mobile 8 lists at about US$149 (Adorama showed a US$129 sale price), above that line. If you are comparing brands, our Hohem vs DJI vs Insta360 breakdown goes deeper.
Skip These Budget Traps
- "3-axis" sticks that are really 1-axis. Some cheap stabilizers have one motor. Check for pan, tilt and roll motors in the specs.
- No payload figure. If the listing does not say how heavy a phone it supports, assume it will struggle with yours.
- Tracking that only works in one app. Fine for vlogs, useless for TikTok Live. Read the fine print.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cheapest real gimbal for a phone?
In our catalog, the iSteady Mobile Plus at ₱3,229 is the cheapest 3-axis handheld. The ₱1,424 Hohem GO tracks faces but is a 2-axis desk holder, not a walking stabilizer.
Is a budget gimbal good enough for vlogging?
Yes, for most phones and most vlogs. Spend more only for heavier phones, longer tracking range or a touchscreen remote.
Will my iPhone Pro Max fit a budget gimbal?
Often not with a case. Check the 280 to 300 g payload limits, or see our heavy phone gimbal guide.
