EBL Collection

EBL Collection

EBL makes rechargeable batteries and chargers — AA, AAA, 9V, C-size, lithium-ion cells and the multi-bay chargers that keep them topped up. The appeal is straightforward: a rechargeable cell replaces dozens of disposables over its life.

What EBL is good for

  • High-drain devices — camera flashes, wireless mics, game controllers and toys that eat alkalines
  • Brownout kits — keeping flashlights, fans and radios supplied without buying disposables
  • Multi-bay charging — chargers from 4 to 12 bays with LCD status per cell
  • Specialist sizes — 9V, C-size, CR123 and drone batteries alongside the common AA and AAA

Worth knowing before you buy: 1.2V or 1.5V

This is the thing most people get wrong. NiMH rechargeable AA cells are 1.2V, while disposable alkalines are 1.5V. Most devices work fine on 1.2V, but some — particularly ones with a battery-level indicator — will read the lower voltage as nearly flat, or will not run at all.

EBL sells both. If a device has refused rechargeables before, choose a 1.5V lithium rechargeable such as the TB-1443, which holds 1.5V until it is nearly empty. For everything else, 1.2V NiMH costs less and lasts more cycles.

Match the charger to the battery

NiMH and lithium cells charge differently and are not interchangeable in a charger. A NiMH charger will not correctly charge a 1.5V lithium cell. Check that the charger lists your battery chemistry before buying, and keep them paired.

Chargers carry a 1-year warranty. Batteries are consumables and are not covered. All ship nationwide across the Philippines.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are rechargeable AA batteries 1.2V instead of 1.5V?

Because NiMH chemistry produces 1.2V per cell where alkaline produces 1.5V. Most devices run perfectly on 1.2V, but some with battery-level indicators read the lower voltage as almost flat, and a few will not start at all. That is a chemistry limit, not a fault.

My device will not work with rechargeable batteries. What should I use?

Choose a 1.5V lithium rechargeable such as the EBL TB-1443. It holds a full 1.5V until nearly empty, so devices that reject 1.2V NiMH cells will treat it like a fresh alkaline. It costs more per cell but solves the problem outright.

Can I charge lithium batteries in a NiMH charger?

No. NiMH and lithium cells need different charging profiles, and using the wrong charger will not charge correctly and is a safety risk. Check the charger lists your battery chemistry — the TB-6030 handles Li-ion, NiCd and NiMH, while most others are NiMH only.

Does higher mAh always mean better?

For runtime, yes — a 2800mAh AA lasts longer per charge than a 2300mAh one. But higher-capacity cells often tolerate slightly fewer charge cycles over their life. For high-drain devices choose capacity; for remotes and clocks the lower-capacity cells are the better value.

How much do rechargeables actually save?

A single NiMH cell replaces hundreds of disposables over its life, so the saving is largest in devices that drain batteries quickly — camera flashes, wireless mics, game controllers, kids' toys. For a wall clock that runs a year on one alkaline, the saving is marginal.

Are rechargeables good for brownout kits?

Yes, provided you keep them charged. Modern NiMH cells hold charge for months when not in use, so a set kept ready in a flashlight or a drawer will work when needed. Top them up every few months and you never have to buy disposables in an emergency.

Is there warranty support in the Philippines?

Yes. EBL chargers bought from VMIDirect carry a 1-year warranty handled locally, with nationwide shipping. Batteries are consumables and are not covered.
