The Short Answer
A 1,500W unit like the Pecron F1000LFP runs most small-business loads — lights, blenders, POS terminals, laptops, small pumps and lighter power tools. What it won't carry is anything with a big compressor or a heating element, like a welder or a commercial rice cooker.
Almost everything written about portable power stations assumes you're camping. That's fine if you're camping. It's useless if you're a vendor trying to work out whether you can stop renting a noisy generator, or an electrician who keeps losing an hour a day hunting for an outlet on site.
So here's the trade version. The unit we'll use for reference is the Pecron F1000LFP at ₱24,800 — around 1,000Wh of LiFePO4 capacity behind a 1,500W output, which is roughly the sweet spot for mobile commercial work.
The Two Numbers That Decide Everything
Every piece of equipment you own has a running wattage and a startup surge. Consumer guides obsess over capacity. In trade use, surge is what actually kills you, because tools and motors are surge-heavy by nature.
Anything with a brushed motor — grinders, drills, circular saws, blenders, small pumps — spikes hard on start. Anything with a heating element — kettles, ovens, hair tools, commercial rice cookers, soldering stations — doesn't surge much but draws its full rating continuously, which drains capacity fast.
Read the nameplate on the tool, not the marketing on the box.
What Runs Comfortably
- LED lighting rigs (20–100W): all day, easily. This alone replaces a generator for a lot of night vendors.
- POS terminal, tablet, receipt printer (60–120W): a full trading day with room to spare.
- Commercial blender (500–800W, intermittent): fine — surges are brief and the duty cycle is low.
- Corded drill (400–700W): comfortable.
- Jigsaw or orbital sander (300–600W): comfortable.
- Laptop, monitor, WiFi (150W): six-plus hours of mobile office.
- Soldering station, small photo printer, sewing machine: all well within range.
What's Marginal
- Angle grinder (700–1,000W): runs, but the surge sits close to the ceiling. Use it in short bursts, don't stack other loads.
- Circular saw (1,100–1,400W): possible on lighter models, genuinely tight on bigger ones.
- Small chest freezer (100–150W running): the running draw is trivial; the compressor surge is what to check.
- Coffee machine (800–1,200W): works, but a few cups will visibly move the battery percentage.
What You Should Not Attempt
- Welding machines. Not a maybe. The draw and duty cycle are in a different category entirely.
- Commercial rice cookers and deep fryers. Heating elements at 1,500W+ sustained will flatten 1,000Wh in well under an hour.
- Air compressors. Startup surge on most shop compressors is brutal.
- Anything over 1,500W continuous. The number is the number.
If your work genuinely needs that class of load, you want the E3600LFP at 3,600W, not a bigger battery behind a small inverter. More capacity doesn't raise your wattage ceiling — that's the mistake we correct most often on the phone.
Why Vendors Switch Away From Generators
The wattage conversation is only half of it. The reasons customers actually give us:
- Noise. You can hold a conversation with a customer. On a food cart, that's revenue.
- No fumes. Which means you can run it indoors, under an awning, or inside a stall — legally and safely.
- No fuel run. No jerrycan, no queue, no petrol stored next to your stock.
- Zero maintenance. No oil changes, no pull-start that fails in the rain, no carburettor.
- It charges while you're closed. Plug in overnight at home, arrive at the site full.
That last point is the one that changes the economics. A generator costs you every single day it runs. A power station costs you once, then runs on grid electricity you're already paying residential rates for.
Sizing It Honestly
Add up the running wattage of everything you'd have on at the same time, then add the surge of the single largest motor on top. If that total sits under 1,500W, the F1000LFP fits. If it doesn't, size up rather than hoping.
