Frequently asked questions
Does it fold for storage?
Yes, that is the AU-S03's distinguishing feature over fixed isolation shields, folding down for easier transport and storage between recording sessions.
How does it reduce noise?
High-density absorbing foam panels combined with a metal back reduce room reflections and background noise reaching the microphone, giving a cleaner recording than an untreated room.
Will it eliminate all background noise?
No, it reduces room reflections and some ambient sound at the mic position, but does not cancel noise from another room or replace full acoustic treatment for a noisy environment.
Is it suitable for a home office setup?
Yes, that is one of its stated uses alongside studio, podcasting and vocal recording, positioned as a practical option for improving audio without a dedicated treated room.
