The product arrived in good condition. For starting a basic home theater, it’s more than enough. The 1100 ANSI lumens, which in practice deliver around 800–900 ANSI depending on the room’s setup, provide enough contrast on a 100–120 inch screen to make you feel like you're in a commercial movie theater.
Of course, at this price point you’re not getting Dolby Atmos or laser technology, but for an amateur home cinema, you won’t even notice and will be able to enjoy it with your family.
That said, you do need to be in a dark or semi-dark room to get the most out of the projector’s quality. I’d also add that you can connect a Fire Stick 4K and pair it with Echo speakers to massively improve the sound quality—which is already impressive for this price.

I love the impressive color scheme; it almost looks like a giant TV. The definition and brightness are wonderful.

I also bought a younger brother of the Wanbo called the T2 Ultra, and it's fantastic. Even though it doesn't have as much brightness or color, it's great for close-up projections and in a small room.

But this X5 Pro is a beast! It gives you the authentic feeling of having a home theater.

Its sound is incredible, with good bass, too. But if you want a better movie theater experience, buy some 5.1 speakers, and you won't have to leave your house again.

If you’re wondering how the Wanbo X5 Pro compares to both ends of the spectrum, you're in for a treat. WANBO VS YABER & GROVIEW Let’s start with the budget-friendly brands. The first thing that stands out with the Wanbo X5 Pro is the build quality, it feels significantly more premium than Yaber or Groview, almost on par with Epson or BenQ. It’s solid, well-assembled, and more importantly, features fully sealed optics. That alone makes it a far superior option. With both the Yaber PRO U9 and Groview JQ818C, I noticed dust accumulating inside the LCD panel within just a few weeks. They even include cotton swabs for cleaning it yourself, but honestly, how long will the unit last if you’re forced to open it regularly? That’s simply not something end users should have to deal with. This problem does not happen with the Wanbo X5 Pro thanks to its sealed design. In terms of image quality, Yaber and Groview offer decent contrast and okay color reproduction for single-LCD projectors, but their brightness is lacking, around 500 ANSI lumens. Ignore inflated marketing claims like “15,000 lumens”; ANSI lumens is the true standard. The Wanbo X5 Pro delivers 1,100 ANSI lumens, which makes a significant difference in clarity and visibility, even with some ambient light. Both use traditional lamps that last around 4,000 hours at full brightness or 8,000 in Eco mode. With the Wanbo, you get an LED light source rated for 20,000 hours, meaning much lower maintenance. However, you do sacrifice a bit in color reproduction—this is the most noticeable difference. Epson and BenQ projectors offer richer, more vibrant colors, and HDR (on the BenQ) is quite impressive. It’s a great product—good projection, resolution, and sound. It works well for gaming too. A great purchase, very versatile. You can project it onto any wall and it looks great, though the quality improves a lot if you use a reflective screen or projector screen. That said, even on a regular wall, it looks amazing in the right environment.

The Wanbo X5 Pro does a whole lot for the money. These photos were taken in a mostly dark room using a 1.6 gain matte white screen . The 1100 ANSI lumen rating produce a bright picture on its own , but the extra gain seems to give good content even more pop and vibrancy. Native Contrast offer good blacks with some gray in the darkest content , and vg color volume produce lively photos. Adding an anti light or ALR screen should give you deeper contrast and blacks but it already produces an amazing picture. The last photo is the temperature setting I used although the picture mode was in soft or standard, and these are the results I got . Looks good in a medium bright room but with a little washout which is normal . Sports , hdr movies etc will shine with the Wanbo X5 Pro although I did not play games on it , I'm sure it will be ok . Streaming appears to be smooth too on the apps I tried . The X5 Pro should be on your high priority list when quality vs price performance is what you're seeking . Using it for my room currently the last two months with e³zero complaints .
