• Props (short for properties) are physical objects used by actors or placed on stage to support the action or define character and setting—like books, weapons, or furniture.

• Backdrops are large painted or printed scenes placed at the back of a stage or set to represent a location or mood, such as a cityscape, forest, or interior room.
